Ta-ta, check prostata!
Why is this our story?

Disease does not choose — it appears quietly and unnoticed. The founder and long-time director of the NECO CUP tournament was also diagnosed with prostate cancer. His experience made us stop and think: how many men around us postpone preventive check-ups? How many avoid going to the doctor because they are afraid, too busy, or believe “this doesn’t apply to me”?

Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers in men. When detected early, it is often curable — yet in its early stages, it shows no symptoms. Many men don’t even know they are ill until it is too late.

Early detection means a greater than 90% chance of recovery.

One blood test. One visit to the doctor. That’s all it takes.

That is why this year’s NECO CUP carries a special social message:

“Ta-ta, check your prostata!” — a simple, warm call to all men:

Go for a check-up. For yourself. For your family.

We will share this message at the tournament in a simple and unobtrusive way. Players will have access to an information point where they can learn more about preventive check-ups. Rapid PSA testing will also be available, along with a photo point featuring the blue bow tie, the symbol of the initiative.

Tennis connects us as a sport — and it can also raise awareness.

Just a small reminder that can make a big difference.

We also play tennis with a purpose.

ITF Masters – Neco Nikolič Cup, where we use tennis to connect sport with social responsibility.

Our goal is simple:

  • to raise awareness about prostate cancer
  • to encourage preventive check-ups
  • to open conversations about men’s health
  • to show that sport has a powerful impact beyond the court

Awareness matters.

Because men tend to postpone things.

Because you often say:

“I’ll go one day.”

And because prostate cancer in its early stages has no symptoms.

But the good news is simple:

if detected early, the chance of recovery is over 90%.

What does it  take?

One visit to the doctor.

One PSA blood test.

That’s it.

So our message is simple:

Ta-ta, check your prostate.

Numbers that speak for themselves

  • 1,600+ men are diagnosed with prostate cancer each year in Slovenia
  • 1.4–1.5 million men are diagnosed worldwide every year
  • One of the most common cancers in men
  • 90%+ chance of recovery if detected early
  • One blood test (PSA) can save a life

The real danger is not getting checked.
The greatest risk is delay.

This year’s Neco Cup – Ta-Ta, check your prostate.

We will share this message in a simple and unobtrusive way:

  • an information point on preventive check-ups
  • the blue bow tie as a symbol of the initiative
  • rapid PSA testing

No drama.
Just a small reminder.

Spread the word.

Tell your father and grandfather.
Your husband.
Your brother.
Your friend.

En pogovor lahko spremeni vse.
